The reverse shows two kangaroos leaping across water, with ripples and splashes in the foreground and a mountain landscape in the distance. A privy mark bearing the number 40 marks the 40th anniversary of the Australian Nugget, the first official Australian legal tender gold coin series.
The design also includes the inscription ‘KANGAROO’, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, and the coin’s weight, purity, and 2026 year-date.
The obverse features the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, along with the monetary denomination.
