The Victoria Young Head Shield Back Sovereigns were issued from 1838 to 1887 with the exception of three years 1840, 1867 and 1876.
This is legal British tender and is therefore free from CGT. The obverse depicts a Queen Vitoria Young Head with a shield design on the reverse.
This 7.988 gram gold coin struck in 22 carat, Crown Gold Alloy, has a face value of £1 which is considerably lower than its metal value today.
