The 2024 edition of the One ounce American Eagle represents the official gold bullion coin of the United States. This fresh American Eagle Gold Coin showcases an illustration of an American Bald Eagle's head on the reverse side, skillfully crafted by Jennie Norris. On the obverse, the coin preserves the standing depiction of Liberty seen on previous versions, now complemented by a redesigned torch and an image of the US Capitol Building. The face value of this coin is $50 (USD).
These coins were initially introduced in 1987, with the dates being represented in Roman numerals. However, in 1992, a switch was made to Arabic numerals for marking the dates. The coins were crafted from 33.93g of 22-carat (91.67%) gold, with each coin containing precisely 1 Troy Oz or 31.1 grams of Fine Gold.
