Operational Update - Royal Mail Industrial Action

Last Updated: 22nd November

Communication Workers Union members employed by Royal Mail have announced further strike action in November, including Black Friday and Cyber Monday retail sales periods.

Confirmed dates are currently:

  • 24th November
  • 25th November
  • 30th November
  • 1st December

Delivery times may be impacted by several working days after parcels have been dispatched.

Different teams and combinations of teams are also striking on other days.

The latest confirmed dates for strike action can be found here.

These strikes are likely to have significant impact on the dispatch and delivery times for our customers’ orders and we will adjust our schedules where possible to reduce the level of goods in transit on strike days.

Please accept our sincere apologies in advance for any disruption caused and be assured that our primary concern is the security of the deliveries that we dispatch.

If you are considering making purchases around the time of strike action, please feel free to call us for the latest delivery information.

If delivery schedules are problematic, we will be happy to provide fully insured storage, free of charge, for any orders that are completed during the periods of disruption, with delayed shipping once the service returns to normal.

Royal Mail have confirmed that members of the Communication Workers Union will take strike action on Friday 26th and Wednesday 31st August, and Thursday 8th and Friday 9th September 2022.

The strikes will cause disruption to the collection, sorting and delivery of parcels and mail on the strike days and the days following each strike day.

Whilst Royal Mail have stated that some services, including Special Delivery, will be prioritized by non-striking staff, disruption is inevitable and delivery guarantees will be suspended during the periods specified.

As the situation develops, we may delay the shipping of some orders to minimize the time that orders are held in Royal Mail custody during strike periods, particularly over weekends. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience that may be caused by the resulting delays in delivery times.

Our primary concern must be the safe delivery of our customers’ orders and we will work to ensure that outcome.
