Switzerland is a land locked country in Central Europe famous for lakes and the Alps. It became a Federal State in 1848 after uniting the many cantons. The Berne mint opened in 1853, carrying a "B" mintmark until 1969, producing the coinage (Swiss Frank) requirement for the country and various commemorative coins. Switzerland is traditionally and historically linked to the clock, watch and jewellery businesses. Not forgetting Investment and Storage banking. It has several major bullion manufacturers, including Metalor, Heraeus and Valcambi.

Pamp controls half the world's market of under 50gram bars and produces 400 tons of gold bars per year. Pamp is also famous for its "Lady Fortuna" design and the manufacture of pendants. Members of the LPPM, DMCC and LBMA (to which it also is a referee).
